The total investment cost of establishing an integrated sports city for Al Ahli Club in Sheikh Zayed amounted to about EGP 10 billion.
According to sources close to the file, al Ahli Club’s plan is to build the stadium on 12 acres of the total 80 acres acquired by the club some time ago in Sheikh Zayed City, and the remaining area will be allocated to create an integrated city with all the necessary services needed by the club from tourist hotels, hospital and sports museums, so that it will become an integrated tourist attraction.
The sources explained that the investments will be in two main directions, where it allocated 4 billion pounds for the benefit of the stadium, while will direct 6 billion to the integrated service sports city surrounding it, which includes hospitals, hotels and shops serving the arrivals.
The stadium is planned to be completed before the end of 2025, and specialized international offices and project management companies will be contracted in the stadiums, explaining that the club has received preliminary approval from the New Urban Communities Authority to proceed with the implementation of the project.
A tender has also been submitted for weeks, with five of the largest foreign consulting offices, including Steven, Wilbrennick and HOK, to take over engineering, field and operational studies for the project, with the tender to be decided in June.
The sources noted the participation of Invergen Project Management company in the project as a development consultant, noting that it is preparing feasibility studies and market studies, and developing the best scenario for the exploitation of the plot.
Last May, Al Ahli Club revealed that the capacity of the mass stadium will not be less than 50 thousand fans, and the implementation period takes 5 years
Captain Mahmoud Al Khatib said that al Ahli club succeeded in obtaining approvals by increasing the height of the stadium to 30 meters after it was allowed only 6 meters, and the stadium area was doubled from 28 thousand meters to 48 thousand meters.
